The Arona Ifonche Walk a popular and easy route

Weather in Ifonche, Tenerife, Canarias

Starting in the small town of Arona, we climb onto the ridge behind Roque del Conde and walk up an old goat herder track towards the village of Ifonche. Along the way we are afforded excellent views and glimpses of the area’s agricultural past. From Ifonche we delve into the pine forests and take in the stunning viewpoint over the famous Barranco del Infierno.

We take lunch in a small local restaurant where we enjoy traditional Canarian food such as chickpea stew, rabbit in salmorejo sauce or carne fiesta (pork fried with onions and garlic) served with Canarian potatoes.

After lunch we take a slow and gentle stroll back down the side of another spectacular canyon known as Valle Del Rey, we pass an old ruin and pick up a farm track which takes us back to Arona.
