Week one of the Adeje Patronal Festival 2017 is well under way with a weekend full of colour, religion, music and dance ahead.
This weekend sees the Adeje Plaza de España and Calle Grande host various different festival events, with the Gala on Friday night, from 10am, where the different representatives from the neighbourhoods take to the stage in a themed show. This will be followed by the first of the fiesta’s big street parties, with live music from the Toque Latino group.
On Saturday in the Cruz de Llano, (the small roundabout at the bottom of the Calle Grande) there will be a number of live bands performing, including the Adeje municipal band, the Guía de Isora band, and guests from San Sebastián de Tejina and the Arafo. At 6pm mass in the parish church is sung by the Riveira polyphonic choir.
At 8.30pm the main festival parade takes place along the Calle Grande, a family night out and this will be followed by another street party in the Plaza de España from 11pm.
On Sunday October 8th a choral concert is scheduled for the Calle Grande at12.30pm, and the evening is replete with religious events, with 7pm mass and a procession with the participation of the Brylcan Nº2 army band. At 10pm the Parranda Chasnera plays in the Plaza de España and from midnight the Orchestra Deliciosa take over the stage.
Monday October 9th is a local fiesta day in Adeje, with banks, local primary and secondary schools as well as all municipal offices and centres closed. There will be a morning of events for kids in the Avenida Palo Mayor, music in the Calle Grande from midday with the Cardón group, mass at 6.30pm and a festival of humour in the Plaza España from 10pm. All events and concerts are free to the public and on most evenings the small fun fair in the parking at the back of the Adeje Cultural Centre will also be open.

12 noon: Traditional ringing of the bells and fireworks in honour of The Virgin.

6.30pm. Bringing of the Municipal Banner from the Town Hall to the Parish church.
7pm: In the Santa Úrsula parish church, solemn Mass sung by the Ribeira Polyphonic choir and Offertory with the different parishes in the borough to Our Lady of the Incarnation. Followed by the procession of the Blessed Image carried by the bearers of Our Blessed Lady of the Incarnation and accompanied by religious and civil authorities, members of the Hermandad del Santísimo, the Mujeres Adejeras con la Virgin collective and the Adeje Patron Band and the Military Brass Band Nº2 Brylcan XVI. The evening culminates with the arrival of Our Lady.
10pm: ‘Maria mi Vida’ performed by the Parranda Chasnera
12 midnight: Street party with music from Deliciosa.

6.30pm In the Santa Úrsula parish church, solemn celebration of the Eucharist in honour of Saint Ursula, sung by the Adeje Santa Úrsula Parish Choir. Followed by the procession of the Blessed Image carried by the Porteadores, accompanied by the clergy and the authorities, the Hermandad del Santísimo, the Adeje Municipal Band. Fireworks.
10pm: Night of humour with comics from the Instinto Cómico group: Plaza de España.
