Grupo Piñero opened its twenty-seventh hotel on November 1, 2018 and the twenty-fifth of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts: Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife 5 star hotel, in the Tenerife municipality of San Miguel de Abona. It is the first new construction establishment that Grupo Piñero has opened in Spain since 2003 -the opening year of the Sunlight Bahia Principe Costa Adeje, also in Tenerife- and through it the company aims to position itself as a benchmark in family holiday tourism in hotels high-end.
Fantasia Bahia Principe Tenerife 5 stars hotel, consists of a complex of eight buildings spread over 45,000 m2 and has a total of 372 rooms, seven swimming pools, five restaurants, six bars, a water park and a Bahia Spa wellness center, between other facilities. In addition, it stands out for its castle and for the great Millenary Drago – native tree of the Canary Islands – in the pool area, which is the central core of the hotel and which will have spectacular lighting at night.
The company has allocated 80 million euros to the construction of this new hotel and it is the first establishment in Spain of the Fantasia brand, which, together with the other brands of the chain (Luxury, Grand and Sunlight), structures the offer of its 25 hotels.

In addition to reinforcing Tenerife’s hotel offer, the new Grupo Piñero hotel will generate 300 jobs on the island. 30% of them will be directed to people previously unemployed and registered in the Canary employment service, under an agreement between the company and the Hecansa training center.
For Isabel Piñero, “the creation of local employment to favor the socioeconomic development of the areas in which we operate is one of the priorities of our business strategy, which has sustainability as a guiding thread”.
The new brand Fantasia Bahia Principe aspires to be synonymous with a genuine family experience, and is built on two basic premises: its special offer of entertainment, with themed shows, and its dreamy atmosphere, thanks to its facilities according to that theme.
In the case of the new hotel in San Miguel de Abona, this theme revolves around the Garden of the Hespérides, whose history takes place within the framework of the culture and legends of Tenerife. An environment that, according to the company, “is ideal to discover the magic of being a child again.”
To imbue the guest in the narrative, many of their installations are themed. The restaurants are set in characters, from their own names to their decoration, and also offer a high level of gastronomy.
