Chayofa is a pretty residential area just five minutes up the road and across the motorway from Los Cristianos.
Many consider it ideally located, being quiet but with excellent access to the motorway and literally on the doorstep of the main holiday areas. It wouldn’t be too wide of the mark to say it’s one of the nearest things we have in Tenerife to the British concept of suburbia. The area has grown considerably in recent years, and is a mix of independent and complex-based villas, townhouses, and apartments.
It has a small number of bars and restaurants, and decent public transport links. It is also very near the new southern public hospital – whenever that might actually be up and running. One can also often see birds of prey flying freely overhead since the popular Jungle Park is in the immediate vicinity.
