Los Gigantes (Santiago del Teide, Tenerife) has its own carnival celebrations one week after Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz. The festive atmosphere fills the streets with rhythm and excitement for four full days.


This includes the typical events of the junior and adult carnival queen election gala, the costume contests, the dancing, the musical performances, the parades and the closing ceremony, known as the Sardine Burial.

Most of these celebrations take place at Plaza de la Buganvilla, right in the heart of the town.

The Carnival of Los Gigantes, which year 2017 has the theme “La Granja” is gradually taking shape and already has poster announcer and dates of celebration that will be on 10,11,12, 17 and 18 March, two weekends where you can enjoy a varied and attractive program of events.

The party will begin on Friday, March 10, at 21:00 p.m. in Buganvilla Square, where the Great Gala of Election of the Adult Queen will be held, to which three candidates will aspire. On Saturday, March 11, a children’s festival will take place and, later, there will be a costume ball. On Sunday 12th will be the Great Coso Apoteósico of the Carnival of Los Gigantes 2017 from “La Pescadora” towards the Plaza Buganvilla de Los Gigantes and with the participation of different groups.

On Friday the 17th will be the traditional Burial of the Sardine in his usual tour. Then, sardine burning and fireworks display. Then, in the Plaza de Los Gigantes, great farewell dance. For Saturday, March 18 is the celebration of the Family Day Carnival.
